Leon Lady Cougars win Grandview Tournament

Paul’s Photo The Leon Lady Cougars are off to a 7-0 mark after winning the Grandview tournament and also defeating Caldwell.

The Cougars traveled to Caldwell for their first game on August 13th and were victorious. The Cougars hit the road to Grandview to compete in their tournament and swept through the tournament undefeated winning their six games. Some strong teams were in the tournament including the top-ranked team in 2A, Brock. The Cougars defeated Springtown in the finals to capture first place.

Several players had outstanding games including Thelma Flores and libero Brianna Sitton. Coach Jason Evans has two freshmen on the varsity and are playing girls in various positions to best determine their talents and where they can help the team.

The Cougars travel to Groesbeck for a game on August 19th before hosting West on August 20th. August 22-24 the Cougars host area teams in a tournament.
